Who are we when no one is watching? Raw Cacao asks this most enigmatic of questions and in search of answers invites us into the most hallowed of spaces, the chamber where one transitions from performer to person. Meet the opera-occasional, black bearded, drag diva Le Gateau Chocolat – joined by the incredible classical pianist Kunal Lahiry – who will perform a specially curated song-cycle of the works that have shaped him – lurching from pop to opera via folk song, musical theatre, disco and more – to reveal a portrait of the undressed artist as man: shaped by experience, made by art. This promises to be a very special performance: intimate, inspired, human, exposed.
